Reach Capital is a San Francisco, California-based U.S. sector-specialist early-stage venture capital firm founded in 2015, focused exclusively on education technology (edtech), economic-mobility, learning, health, and work categories, and consistently ranked as one of the most diverse investment firms in the U.S. venture industry. The firm was co-founded by General Partners Jennifer Carolan (formerly taught in Chicago public schools for seven years; co-founder and managing director of NewSchools Venture Fund's Seed Fund) and Shauntel Garvey (MIT BS Chemical Engineering, Stanford MBA and MA Education; formerly senior engineer at Procter & Gamble; partner at NewSchools Seed Fund), together with Wayee Chu and Esteban Sosnik. Reach has raised four flagship funds: Fund I at USD 53 million (2015), Fund II at USD 82 million (2017, with a reported 72.1% Net IRR as of Q2 2021), Fund III at USD 165 million (2021, LPs include Sesame Workshop, National Geographic, Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, Goldman Sachs), and Fund IV at USD 215 million (2023), with total capital raised of USD 570+ million. The firm also operates the Reach Founders Fund with USD 4 million committed across 40+ portfolio-company founders.
