Accomplice VC is a U.S. early-stage technology venture capital firm based in Boston, Massachusetts, founded in 2014 as a spin-out from Atlas Venture (the long-established Boston VC firm that split into a healthcare-focused fund and an IT-focused fund; Accomplice is the successor to Atlas Venture's IT / early-stage technology practice). Accomplice invests at seed and Series A stages across fintech and cryptocurrency / web3, artificial intelligence and machine learning, information technology, cyber-security, marketplace, developer tools, consumer internet, and adjacent early-stage technology themes, with a distinctive focus on Boston / New England and cross-border Israeli / European deal flow. The firm was founded by partners including Jeff Fagnan (founder and managing partner), Ryan Moore, and others from the prior Atlas Venture team, and has raised multiple institutional funds totalling aggregate AUM in the USD mid-hundreds of millions range (Accomplice Fund I at USD 165 million in 2015, Fund II at USD 230 million in 2017, subsequent funds). Accomplice was a notable early investor in major crypto/web3 ventures including Coinbase and other digital-asset companies, and additionally in Carbon Black, DraftKings, Veracode, Klaviyo, and numerous other Boston-ecosystem technology companies.
