Long River Ventures invests in seed and early stage companies in technology, healthcare, and other related sectors. Formed by a group of experienced entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, Long River is designed and structured to invest smaller amounts of capital with typical initial investments of $500,000 to $1MM. Collectively, they have raised more than $170 million in venture capital. While the firm has no geographic restriction, Long River concentrates on emerging (or secondary) geographic markets of the Northeast outside the traditional venture markets such as Boston and New York. The firm primarily invests in information technology including software, telecommunications, media, and Internet; and healthcare including medical devices, diagnostics, and healthcare IT companies. Long River also invests in cleantech (energy and environmental companies), business services, and consumer businesses that are leveraging technology in a sustainable competitive way. The firm manages $50 million through its earlier Funds (Long River Ventures and the Worcester Venture Fund), and through Long River Ventures II.
