MdBio Foundation is a private foundation based in Rockville, Maryland. Established in 1991, the foundation's interdisciplinary approach uses science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to explore real-world, problem-centric learning that bridges school, community, health, and business. The mission of the foundation is to provide provides innovative, effective, and experiential STEM education opportunities with a focus on bioscience. The MdBio Foundation enhances science education through a diverse set of programs, including the flagship program MdBioLab, and other celebrated STEM education programs such as the Young Science Explorers Program (YSEP) for middle school students, the Maryland Bio GENEius Award, and the game-based learning platform MdBioSphere. The investment funds of the foundation are managed by the board of directors.
