Innovation Valley Partners

Knoxville, Tenn.-based Innovation Valley Partners (IVP) is the affiliate fund of Battelle Ventures, an independent venture fund based in Princeton, N.J. The funds have a combined $255 million under management to create and accelerate the development of early-stage technology companies with breakthrough solutions to key market problems. The sole limited partner of the $220-million Battelle Ventures fund is Battelle Memorial Institute (Battelle), and Eastern Tennessee business leaders have backed the $35-million IVP fund. The funds, which share the same management team, enjoy close relationships with the technology transfer offices of the National Laboratories that Battelle manages or co-manages for the U.S. Department of Energy, including Oak Ridge National Laboratory. They also have established similar associations with a number of university technology transfer and commercialization departments.
