BioMedPartners AG (also BioMed Partners AG ) is a Swiss life-sciences venture capital firm headquartered in Basel, Switzerland (the heart of European pharmaceutical and life-sciences industry, home to Roche and Novartis), specialising in early- and growth-stage investments in European and selectively U.S. biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical-device, and digital-health companies. The firm was founded in 2002 and is among the more established independent Swiss life-sciences VCs, investing across therapeutics / drug discovery and development (oncology, rare diseases, CNS, immunology), medical devices (minimally-invasive, diagnostic, surgical), and specialty pharmaceuticals, with typical initial check sizes in the EUR 3 to 15 million range at Series A through Series C, and follow-on participation through exit. BioMedPartners has raised multiple institutional funds (BioMedInvest I, II, III, and subsequent vehicles) with aggregate AUM in the CHF / EUR low-hundreds of millions range. The firm is staffed by life-sciences-industry specialists with pharmaceutical, biotech, and clinical-medicine backgrounds, and has backed numerous European biotech/medtech companies through to IPO or strategic exit.
