Telemus Capital is a wealth advisor with offices in Michigan and Texas. The firm advises on about $2 billion in assets. The firm's clients invest primarily in traditional asset classes but some clients also invest in alternative assets including funds of hedge funds and funds of real estate funds. Telemus had about $100 million invested in alternatives prior to 2008 but it redeemed from most investments at the end of that year. The firm's clients are focusing on more liquid investments at this time including mutual funds and ETFs. Most fund research takes place in Southfield MI but all of the information gathered on managers goes into the same pool which the firm's relationship managers have access to.
