Questor is a private equity firm that manages approximately $1.2 billion across two funds. The firm's first fund of $300 million, raised in 1995, is fully invested and harvested. In 1999, Questor closed its second fund with $865 million of equity capital available for investments worldwide. The firm's second fund is substantially invested and is in the harvesting phase. Questor was co-founded in 1995 by Jay Alix and Dan Lufkin. Jay founded AlixPartners, a turnaround and performance improvement consulting firm. Dan is a co-founder of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Questor grew out of a combination of Jay's turnaround management experience and Dan's capital markets expertise. Since 1995, Questor has completed more than 20 acquisitions worldwide, with combined revenues exceeding $7 billion. The firm seeks to invest in companies in stable and growing industries with: revenues from $10 to $100 million; break-even or better profitability; and positive historical cash flows.
