Mitch Golub serves as the President at Classified Ventures and MFG Digital. He also serves as Board Member at Drivin and Carlease.com. He has an extensive background in new media, new business start-ups and developing new products. He joined cars.com in July 1997 as the organization's first employee after a successful 21 year's of career at Tribune Company, where he served as a Senior Executive in its New Media Group. During his tenure at Tribune's South Florida Sun-Sentinel, he created and managed new Businesses in print, online and broadcast. In 1995, he became General Manager for interactive services for the Sun-Sentinel. He was responsible for putting the newspaper online and launching content-rich classified advertising-based products. Later, he developed Digital City South Florida, one of electronic publishing's first broad-based community products, which have become part of America Online's local service network. He began his career as a Reporter and Editor in Chicago, Ill. In 1978, he became Assistant City Editor of the Fort Lauderdale News and Sun-Sentinel. He served in a variety of Editorial Management positions before his appointment in 1984 as Senior Executive for the Palm Beach County operation of the Sun-Sentinel. In 1987, he returned to the Newsroom as a Senior News Executive through 1991, when he committed full-time to new business initiatives. Golub served as a Director at Interactive Advertising Bureau Inc. He has served on the Board of Directors of five new media businesses and organizations. He served on the board of MarketDrive Interactive, an Internet company Classified Ventures recently acquired. In recognition of his contributions, he received the Tribune Co.'s first Values Award, presented in appreciation of business achievements demonstrating creativity and entrepreneurialism in 1992,. As a result of his expertise and pioneer status, he has participated in a variety of industry panels, workshops and speaking engagements. He has been a regular featured speaker at Auto Remarketing's annual iRemarketing Summit, the Forrester Automotive Summit and EyeforAuto. Additionally, he provides frequent commentary and analysis to publications such as Automotive News, Auto Remarketing, NADA's Auto Exec and Used Car Dealer Magazine and has addressed consumer interests in New York Times and Wall Street Journal.
