3-Banken manages investments on behalf of several private banks in Austria. Clients include private individuals, institutions, and retail clients. In 2008 the firm redeemed its investments with Credit Suisse as it found the management and performance fee's too high. The firm then invested in single manager hedge funds and long-only funds exclusively. The firm now is no longer investing in hedge funds due to the fees. It has found it can gain commodity exposure in optimized yield funds. About less than1% of the firm's $5 billion in assets is dedicated to alternatives.
