Marcelo Mesquita

Marcelo Mesquita is a Co-Founding Partner at Leblon Equities. He is responsible for the Equities Research. Marcelo has 23 years of experience with Brazilian Equities and Capital Markets, having worked 10 years at UBS Pactual (1998-2008) and 7 years at Banco Garantia (1991-1998). At UBS Pactual, Marcelo held several positions: Co- Head of Brazil Equity Capital Markets (07-08), Co-Head of Brazilian Equities (05-07), Head of Brazil and Deputy Head of LatAm Equity Research (98- 06) and Brazil Equity Strategist and Special Situations Analyst (98-06). At Banco Garantia, Marcelo has been a Basic Materials Analyst (91-97) and an Investment Banker (97-98). Since 1995 Marcelo has been ranked among the top equity analysts in Latin America by various surveys both as a Basic Materials analyst and as a Brazil Equity Strategist. He has been ranked the "#1 Brazil Analyst" according to the Institutional Investor Magazine LatAm Research Team Survey in 2006, 2005, 2004 and 2003 (and #3 in 2002, #2 in 2001, #3 in 2000). Marcelo was also the "#1 Brazil Equity Strategist" according to the Magazine Brazil Survey in 2005, 2004 and 2003. Marcelo has been closely involved with Equity Capital Market transactions (IPOs) for more than 50 companies, both at Garantia and UBS Pactual, leading players in equity research and equity capital markets in Brazil. Marcelo is 44 years old and has a degree in Economics from PUC-Rio, a degree in French Studies from the University of Nancy II, and an OPM (Owner/President Management) degree from Harvard. He is at the Consultative Board of BR Home Centers, Mills SI, Tamboro and City Shoes.
