He served as the Chief Executive Officer and a Board Member of Oracle since he co-founded the company in June 1977. He served as Oracle's president from May 1977 to June 1996. He served as the chairman of the board of Oracle since June 1995 and also served as chairman of the board from April 1990 until September 1992. He serves as a director of Apple Computer. He has been a director of Oracle since June 1977 and as its member of executive committee since December 1985. He is also a Co-Founder of Knowledge Universe Holdings and Netsuite (formerly Netledger).
