Jon Funk is the founder of Ocean Road Partners and has been a professional venture capitalist for over 30 years.
He served as a Managing Director from Allegis Capital, a Palo Alto-based venture capital firm, from its founding in 1996 until 2007, opening and managing the Los Angeles office. He represents Allegis on the Board of Directors of ClariPhy Communications.
Jon directed several of Allegis Capital's most successful investments, including Sandpiper Networks, Rent.Com, Shopzilla, and ClariPhy Communications, all southern California-based companies.
Jon is a Lecturer at the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management. He serves on the Board of Directors of the UC Berkeley College of Engineering Annual Fund and the Los Angeles Venture Association, and was awarded the LAVA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012.
Jon was previous a founding General Partner of InterVen Partners. He received an MBA from the University of Southern California, and a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
