Howard Wood is a Co-Founder at Cequel III. Wood co-founded Cequel III, LLC, in January 2002, after resigning his position from the Board of Directors of Charter Communications, Inc., which he also helped found (nine years earlier). Prior to forming Charter Communications, Wood was president and chief executive officer of Cencom Cable Associates, Inc. From 1961 to 1987, Wood was with Arthur Andersen & Co., an international firm of certified public accountants. He served as partner-in-charge of the St. Louis tax division from 1973 until joining Cencom Cable Associates, Inc. From 1979 until his move to Cencom Cable Associates, Inc., In addition, Wood served on a number of special Andersen management committees and task forces. Wood's cable career began in 1976 when he assisted in financing the development of the cable television systems of T.C. Industries, Inc. He was instrumental in the formation of Cencom Cable Associates, Inc. in 1982 and in the structuring of its affiliated partnerships. After the sale of Cencom Cable Associates, Inc. to Hallmark Cards, Inc. in 1991, Wood and two partners formed Charter Communications, Inc. in 1993. Wood is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, board member of Gaylord Entertainment Company, VanLiner Group, Inc., First State Bank, and Data Research Associates. His civic activities have included serving as chairman of the Board of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy; director of the Conservation Federation of Missouri and serving as the Federation's president in 1984 and 1985; member of the St. Louis Sports Committee and co-chairman of the Olympic Festival Organizing Committee which brought the 1994 U.S. Olympic Festival to St. Louis.
