Barry Cheskin is a Co-Founder and serves as the President, Board Member & Chief Executive Officer at PowerVision. He is also an Angel Investor. He serves as an Executive at Shalon Ventures. He is a seasoned medical device executive who began his career in the medical device industry in 1983 as a senior engineer at C.R. Bard. Prior to founding PowerVision, he was President & CEO of a nanotechnology-based medical device company, NanoGram Devices, which he sold to its largest competitor just nine months after arriving there. Prior to that, he was the President & CEO of minimally invasive cancer device company RITA Medical Systems, which he grew to approximately $18MM in sales after taking it public in 2000. Prior to that, he was a Division President at another medical device company, Datascope, where he launched the VasoSeal vascular puncture sealing product and brought his division to profitability. While at Datascope, he also sold its Angioplasty Division to Boston Scientific. He served as a Senior Associate in the management consulting firm of Booz, Allen & Hamilton. He also serves on the Boards of early stage medical device companies. He holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, an M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
