Barney Corning was a co-founder and General Partner of Corning Technology Ventures. Barney has also been President and Chief Investment Officer of Corning Capital Corporation since 1992. Corning Capital Corporation as a firm has invested in numerous successful ventures, including MicroTouch Systems, TeraData, Security Dynamics (RSA), XOMA, MedIntell, Optical Sensors, Haemonetics and Nuron, to name a few. He serves or has served as a General Partner of Enertech Associates, Ltd., Corning Capital Ventures, L.L.C. and Corning Technology Ventures II, LP. He maintains or has had Board involvement with a number of portfolio companies, including Exmplar, Metatomix, Active Impulse Systems, Network Engines, and NobleNet.
Additionally, Barney co-founded the CCC Alliance, L.L.C., a formal affiliation of independent family investment offices. Prior to joining Corning Capital, Barney was a Consultant and Product Director for Interactive Data Corporation, a financial information services company, and a portfolio manager with Excalibur Management, an investment manager.
Barney is a member of the Massachusetts Telecommunications Council, the Massachusetts Software and Internet Council, the American Foundation Board of Directors, and the Board of Trustees of the Shore Country Day School, Beverly, Massachusetts. He received his BA from Trinity College and his MBA from the Boston University School of Management. He is 43 years old and is married with three children.
