The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), based in Oak Brook, Illinois, was created in 1939 by the Illinois General Assembly and today�serves approximately 275,000 active and retired members. The Fund has assets totaling about $25 billion and presently maintains target allocations of 6% ($1.44 billion) to alternative investments comprised of multi-manager hedge fund and private equity vehicles. It is presently invested in funds managed by Aurora Investment Management, Grosvenor Capital, Mesirow, Pantheon Ventures, Adams Street Partners and Abbott Capital. Additional allocation targets include, 38% to domestic equity, 29% to fixed income, 20% to international equity and 6% to real estate.
