Fundacion Avina

Avina Foundation is a non-profit foundation formed in 1994 and is based in Panama City, Panama. The foundation identifies opportunities to achieve systemic change relevant for sustainable development, by connecting and empowering people and institutions in shared agendas for action. The organization creates and supports collaborative processes which produce effective cooperation among entrepreneurs, companies, civil society organizations, academia and governmental institutions so together they can contribute to advancing the common good. Avina receives financial support from VIVA Trust, an endowment created by Mr. Schmidheiny to foster sustainable development through alliances between successful and responsible private businesses and philanthropic organizations, promoting leadership and innovation.
