Founded in 2000, Flagship Ventures is an entrepreneurship and venture capital firm based in Cambridge, MA. The Flagship investment team consists of 10 professionals focused on creating, financing, and building companies in the Therapeutics, Life Science & Diagnostics, and BioEnergy/Cleantech sectors. Flagship Ventures has launched 30 companies while investing in another 50. Flagship's initial investment may range between $500,000 and $5 million. The firm may invest up to a total $7-$15 million during the life of an early stage venture and typically forms a syndicate that includes other leading venture firms. The firm announced March of 2015 that it raised $537 million for Flagship Ventures Fund V, its largest fund since its founding in 2000. The new investment brings Flagship's aggregate funds under management to $1.4 billion.
