Entrepreneurial Development Center, Inc. (edc); Iowa Seed Fund

Established in 2003, the Entrepreneurial Development Center, Inc. (EDC) is a private/public sponsored business accelerator. The EDC's mission is to provide economic growth in the Technology Corridor and throughout Iowa through the expansion and development of entrepreneurial enterprise. The EDC is focused on creating local wealth for area re-investment by growing and cultivating Iowa-based regional, national and international businesses. Affiliated with the EDC is the Iowa Seed Fund, a Qualified Community Seed Fund as defined by Iowa legislature House File 2271. Iowa Seed Fund announced it broke escrow at $1.25 million in August 2007. The fund raised its capital from regional banks and private investors, and will provide early stage funding for qualified Iowa entrepreneurs trying to launch a new business. EDC provides its clients with resource connections, networking and education programs, and mentoring and consulting services.
