The Center For Innovation is a non-profit established in 2001 by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce Foundation to serve as a catalyst for technology led economic development. The Center brings together technology, capital and talent to match market needs with research capabilities of industry, academia and government. Recognizing the importance of the availability of the right type of funding at the right time in the commercialization lifecycle, the Center for Innovation provides access to a mix of private and public funding sources. These include: Proof of Concept Funds for early stage funding of university research; Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR), and Texas Emerging; Technology Fund (ETF); Angel Capital; Venture Capital; and Corporate Venture Capital. TechComm is a federal technology transfer Partner Intermediary established in 2010. TechComm is a coalition of U.S. federal agencies and their federal labs, working with the Center to advance the commercialization of federally funded research, by (1) the transfer of federal patented technology to business and industry for commercial use and manufacturing; and (2) cooperative research and development agreements between federal labs with university, business and industry partners.
