African Development Bank Group (AfDB) is a banking institution based in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Established in 1964, the bank is a multilateral development financial institution, comprising of three distinct entities namely the African Development Bank, the parent institution, and two affiliates, the African Development Fund (ADF) and the Nigerian Trust Fund (NTF). The overall objective of the AfDB is to support the economic development and social progress of African countries individually and collectively, by promoting investment of public and private capital in projects and programs designed to reduce poverty and improve living conditions. The assets are managed by a 20-member Board of Directors.
