Ted Serbinski

Ted Serbinski serves as Managing Director, MetLife Digital Accelerator at Techstars. He is an entrepreneur and early stage investor operating at the intersection of Detroit's automotive dominance and its entrepreneurial resurgence. He is the Managing Director of Techstars Mobility, the first US startup accelerator program focused on next-generation mobility technologies. Previously, he was a Partner and founding team member of Detroit Venture Partners, a $55M seed-stage fund that has invested in 25 companies. Ted also serves as the Chairman of the Techweek Detroit Executive Advisory Board, board member for the Michigan Venture Capital Association, and board member for TechTown. He's also the Executive Producer of the documentary, Restarting the Motor City.For Ted's work in catalyzing the Detroit startup scene, he has been recognized as a Champion of the New Economy by Junior Achievement. He also has been awarded the Crain's 40 Under 40, dBusiness 30 in their 30s, Oakland County Elite 40 under 40, and the Detroit Techweek 100. Before moving to Detroit from San Francisco, Ted was a co-founder and CTO of ParentsClick. With the 4th largest social network and the largest blog network for moms, Lifetime Television acquired ParentsClick in 2008. Ted graduated from Cornell in 2004, with a B.S. in Computer Engineering.
