Description
Nelsun Peltz is a Co-Founding Partner and serves as Chief Executive Officer at Trian Fund Management. He is a Member of Board of Directors at Procter & Gamble. Previously, he served as the Chairman at Snapple Beverage. He currently serves as non-executive Chairman of The Wendy's Company (formerly Wendy's/Arby's Group, Inc. and previously Triarc Companies, Inc. ("Triarc"), hereinafter referred to as "The Wendy's Company"). From April 1993 until June 2007, Peltz served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Triarc. From its formation in January 1989 to April 1993, Peltz was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Trian Group, Limited Partnership ("TGLP"), which provided investment banking and management services for entities controlled by Messrs. Peltz and May. From 1983 until December 1988, he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer and a director of Triangle Industries, Inc. ("Triangle"), which, through wholly-owned subsidiaries, was, at that time, a manufacturer of packaging products (through American National Can Company), copper electrical wire and cable and steel conduit and currency and coin handling products. From 1984 to October 1992, Peltz served as Chairman and CEO of Avery, Inc., which, until the sale of its subsidiary Uniroyal Chemical Holding Company, was primarily engaged in the manufacture and sale of specialty chemicals, and, from January 2003 to June 2006, he served as a director of Encore Capital Group, Inc. Peltz is also a director of Mondelz International, Inc., a global snacking powerhouse, with 2013 revenue of $35 billion, and The Madison Square Garden Company. He previously served as a director of H. J. Heinz Company from September 2006 to June 2013, Legg Mason, Inc. from October 2009 to December 2014 and Ingersoll-Rand plc from August 2012 to June 2014. In September 2012, Peltz was recognized for a third consecutive year by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) as among the most influential persons in the global corporate governance arena. Peltz is Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Chairman of the New York Tolerance Center. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Overseers of the Weill Cornell Medical College and Graduate School of Medical Sciences, a member of the Board of Overseers of The Milken Institute, a member of the Honorary Board of Directors of the Prostate Cancer Foundation (formerly known as CaP CURE) and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Intrepid Museum Foundation. Peltz attended The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is also a Board Member at Sysco.
