Gregory LeMond

Gregory LeMond is the Founder of LeMond Companies and also serves as its Chief Executive Officer & Executive Chairman. He is an Angel Investor. He provides strategic oversight for all LeMond companies, and leverages his long-standing industry relationships to bring carbon fiber products to high-margin consumer retail and OEM customers. Greg is a former professional road racing cyclist, with numerous accolades including Road Race World Champion 1983 and 1989, and Tour de France Champion 1986, 1989, and 1990. He is currently the only American to hold the winner's title for the Tour de France, and one of only seven riders who have won the Tour three or more times. Greg was inducted into the United States Bicycling Hall of Fame in 1996. Greg is also known for pioneering the adoption of significant technological advancements in professional cycling, including the introduction of carbon fiber bicycle frames, aerodynamic "triathlon" handlebars, the first cycling computer, the first heart-rate monitor, aerodynamic and hard-shell helmets, clip-less pedals, data-centric training programs, and perfecting Oakley sunglasses for cyclists. Greg founded LeMond Bicycles, launched in 1995, and other entrepreneurial activities have included real estate and restaurants. Greg remains very active in the professional bicycling community, and is an on-air commentator for Eurosport's yearly television coverage of the Tour de France.
