He also serves as Investment Committee Member at The W Fund. He serves as a Investment Committee Member at The W Fund, He is also the founder, current board member, and former CEO of Rover.com, the world's largest pet sitting marketplace. He recently served on the boards of Decide (acquired by eBay) and ThisLife (acquired by Shutterfly) and helped manage the firm's investment in Wavii (acquired by Google). He also managed Madrona's investments in Dantz Development Corporation (acquired by EMC), Rendition Networks (acquired by Opsware), Singingfish.com (acquired by Thomson Consumer Electronics), LiveBid.com (acquired by Amazon.com), and AdRelevance (acquired by Media Metrix). He serves on the board of UP Global and as the President of the Evergreen Venture Capital Association. He is on the investment committee of the W Fund, a University of Washington-based venture fund. He is the author of three books. He is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Washington Business School, where he teaches a course on Entrepreneurship. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors and distinction from Stanford University, with honors and distinction from the Harvard Business School, and with honors from Harvard Law School where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review.
