Swedish Match, based in Stockholm, is a unique tobacco company, using its world leading brands and niche tobacco products to work in growing markets in harmony with current social and consumer trends. Swedish Match has five different product categories - snus/snuff, cigars, chewing tobacco, pipe tobacco and lights. Brand-building and product broadening are cornerstones in the firms efforts to achieve organic growth. The company sells products in more than 100 countries, with production units in 11 countries.Swedish Match is relatively new to alternative investments and currently allocates 10% of their $330 million USD pension scheme towards fund of hedge funds. The firm has a new board, which will be reevaluating the firm's position on alternatives in the coming months.
