Eric Xu

Eric Xu juined GGV Capital in 2017 as a Managing Partner, focusing on consumer/new retail and social/internet investments. Eric led GGV's investments in Zhaoyou, Cityshop, BingoBox, Citybox, and Xinshang and has significant experience in working with early stage Chinese companies. He was most recently Managing Director with SIG Investment Asia, where he led investments in and served as board members for Babytree, XimalayaFM, 51Credit, Fruitday, Fanli, TouchPal, Meiyou, Kanghui (NYSE: KH), Bicon (SZ: 002411), Adsame, and ETCP. Before SIG, he was an investment professional at CITIC Capital and TDF Capital (TDF formed an alliance with KPCB in China in 2007), where he led the first institutional investment into ChineseAll (SZ: 300364) and VisualChina (SZ: 000681). Prior to his career in venture capital, Eric was an investment banker at CLSA and its JV in China. He is a graduate of Shanghai University of Finance & Economics and holds a Master of Finance from the University of Manchester (UK) School of Business and UMIST, respectively.
