With more than 27 years of experience in telecom and networking, and with extensive involvement in the entrepreneurial arena, Claude Haw brings a wealth of expertise in building successful technology companies. Claude joined Skypoint as a General Partner in 2003.
Previously, Claude was Founder and Managing Partner of Venture Coaches, an Ottawa-based fund providing seed and early-stage venture capital to wireless and optical technology companies. At Venture Coaches, Claude served as a board member and advisor with several start-ups in Ottawa, Vancouver and Toronto.
Prior to Venture Coaches, Claude held a number of executive positions at Newbridge Networks, including Vice-President of Corporate Business Development. In this role he managed strategic investment programs--from start-up to exit--in more than 20 companies.
Earlier, Claude headed the Newbridge corporate venture program--a key incubator for highly focused spinoff companies. And as Newbridge Vice President and General Manager of the ATMnet Business Unit, Claude grew the start-up unit into a $200-million-per-annum business. Claude also held senior management positions at Mitel Corporation and Leigh Instruments.
Claude is a founder of Mindtrust, an exclusive networking forum for technology company CEOs. He is also a board member of the Canadian Venture Capital Association (CVCA).
Claude holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Lakehead University and has completed the Canadian Securities Course.
