Western Illinois University (WIU) manages an endowment fund which is based in Macomb, Illinois. The funds are administered by the Western Illinois University Foundation (WIU Foundation) on behalf of the university. The WIU Foundation exists for the principal purpose of aiding and assisting WIU in achieving its education, research, and service goals and responsibilities. The mission of the WIU Foundation is to maximize private support for the university to assist in advancing its core values of academic excellence, educational opportunity, personal growth, and social responsibility. The assets of the foundation are managed by the board executive committee.Western Illinois University Foundation's investment portfolio is valued at $69.82 million, with investments in domestic and international equity, fixed income, private equity, real estate, hedge funds and cash.
