Truman State University is a Missouri public liberal arts and sciencesuniversity. Though it is a public college, Truman State has highlyselective admissions standards.Before you panic, you should know that there is no application fee, andthe process is streamlined so that applying for Truman State alsoautomatically submits your application for their scholarship program. Inorder to receive the greatest consideration for scholarships, studentsshould submit their applications before December.Admissions at this school are based upon high school performance,specifically GPA, class rank, SAT and ACT scores, special abilities, andan essay. Students with a combined ability score of 140 or above will bethe first to be considered. In order to determine your ability score, addyour high school class rank percent to you national percentile on the ACTor SAT entrance exam.Academics include more than 40 areas of study including Russian,Communication Disorders, Computer Science and even InterdisciplinaryStudies for students that require more flexibility from their education.Truman State also has approximately 45 minors including InternationalStudies and Environmental Studies.Students are encouraged to engage in activities outside of the classroom,which is why they offer over 200 groups and college life opportunities inaddition to an extensive Greek life.
