The Westly Group is a venture capital firm founded in 2007 by Steve Westly, former Controller and Chief Fiscal Officer of the State of California, and headquartered in Menlo Park, California, focused on early to growth-stage companies driving digitization and sustainability across the energy, mobility, buildings, industrial technology, and cybersecurity sectors. The firm has raised five funds with over $800 million in assets under management and counts approximately 33 of the world's largest strategic companies as limited partners, including Duke Energy, Volkswagen/Audi, State Farm, Bridgestone, ABB, and American Electric Power. The firm has achieved nine portfolio company IPOs, with four generating multi-billion dollar valuations including Tesla Motors (where Westly served on the board), SentinelOne, Procore, and Luminar. The firm was ranked 79th among 350 funds on Time magazine's 2025 list of America's Top Venture Capital Firms and maintains offices in Silicon Valley, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.
