The Brookings Institution

The Brookings Institution is an independent non-profit foundation based in Washington, District of Columbia. Established in 1916, the foundation is devoted to independent research and innovative policy solutions. Its mission is to conduct high-quality, independent research and based on that research, to provide innovative, practical recommendations that advance their three broad goals: strengthen American democracy, foster the economic and social welfare, and secure a more open, safe, prosperous and cooperative international system. The assets of the foundation are managed by the executive management team.The Brookings Institution's investment portfolio is valued at $419.462 million, with investments in domestic and international equity, real assets, hedge funds, private equity fixed income and cash.
