Swedfund International

Swedfund International (Swedfund) is a government agency based in Stockholm, Sweden. Established in 1979, the agency specializes in complex, high-risk investment environments. It offers equity, loans, and expertise for investments in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. It also offers financial support to small and medium-sized Swedish enterprises in the form of depreciation loans for investment in knowledge transfer and equipment. It is wholly owned by the Swedish government, and reports to the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs Department for Management and Methods in Development Collaboration (MFA-USTYR). The assets of the agency are managed by the board of directors.Swedfund International's investment portfolio is valued at over SEK5.59 billion, with investments in domestic and international equity, cash, and private equity.
