Stiftelsen for Strategisk Forskning (SSF) is a foundation based in Stockholm, Sweden. Established in 1994, SSF supports research in science, engineering, and medicine for the purpose of strengthening Sweden's future competitiveness. SSF gives priority mainly to the following main areas, Information, Communication and Systems Technologies (ICT), Life sciences with a focus on technologies, and Bioengineering and Materials Research with a focus on new and better functionality and production. The assets of the foundation are managed by the board of directors.Stiftelsen for Strategisk Forskning's investment portfolio is valued at SEK 11 billion with investments in private equity.
