Stiftelsen fur kunskaps- och kompetensutveckling (KK-stiftelsen) is a non-profit independent foundation based in Stockholm, Sweden. Established in 1994, the foundation is the research financier for universities with the task of strengthening Sweden's competitiveness and ability to create value. It strives to help Sweden's new universities create internationally competitive research environments, work long-term on strategic profiling, and increase cooperation between academia, industry, institutes, and society. The assets of the foundation are managed by the board of directors.Stiftelsen fr kunskaps- och kompetensutveckling's investment portfolio is valued at over SEK7.97 billion, with investments in domestic and international equity, private equity, hedge funds and cash.
