Somerville Retirement System

Somerville Retirement System is a contributory and defined-benefit public pension fund based in Somerville, Massachusetts. The Somerville Retirement System covers all member unit employees deemed eligible by the retirement board, with the exception of school department employees who serve in a teaching capacity. The fund was established to provide retirement benefits to city employees, the City Housing Authority employees, and their beneficiaries. The system is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Contributory Retirement Systems (MACRS), governed by Chapter 32 of the Massachusetts General Laws, and is regulated by the Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission (PERAC).
