It was founded in 1958 and is headquartered in Durham, North Carolina. RTI acquires and invest in organizations in both the commercial and public sectors that are distinguished by their scientific stature and reputation for innovation. Its investment criteria include firms with primary operations and clients located either in the United States or abroad. In 2017 RTI had revenues that exceeded $900 million.
