NBIF is a Fredericton-based public innovation funder and institutional capital provider for SMEs in Canada. It administers the Innovation Voucher Fund, providing non-repayable funding of up to $80,000 per project for applied research, proof of concept, prototyping, testing and related scientific or technology services. The mandate prioritizes information technology, industrial technology, biosciences, aerospace and defense, energy, food and beverage and manufacturing, with observed activity in cybersecurity and security.
