Formed in 2002, Main Street Capital provides mezzanine capital to small and middle market companies. The firm focuses on ownership transitions, recapitalizations, strategic acquisitions, business expansion and other growth initiatives for later stage businesses. The Fund's investments typically take the form of subordinated debt (with equity participation) or preferred equity securities, but can include any combination of subordinated debt, preferred stock, convertible securities and common equity. Main Street targets later stage basic businesses with revenues ranging from $10 to $150 million, EBITDA of $5-$25 million, and growth characteristics. Geographically, the firm focuses on investment opportunities in the Southern and Southwestern regions of the U.S., but will consider any domestic investment opportunity, with amounts typically ranging in size from $2 to $15 million.
