JRS Biodiversity Foundation (JRS) is an independent non-profit foundation based in Seattle, Washington. Established in 2007, the mission of the foundation is to increase access to and use of information that will lead to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development in sub-Saharan Africa. JRS also increases the capacity of the institutions and people who collect, manage and disseminate biodiversity data and information in sub-Saharan Africa and to connect this knowledge to those stakeholders-the policymakers, conservationists, investors, and the public who make and influence decisions that are crucial to preserving biodiversity. The assets of the foundation are managed by the Board of Trustees.JRS Biodiversity Foundation's investment portfolio is valued at $42.47 million, with investments in domestic and international equity, fixed income, private equity, and cash.
