The GOOSE Society of Texas (or Grand Order of Successful Entrepreneurs) was the vision of Dr. Jack Gill, who created the GOOSE Society as a platform to bring together a group of ultra-successful entrepreneurs and angel investors to give back by helping create and support the next generation of entrepreneurs. The first initiative of the GOOSE Society was the creation of the $100,000 investment Grant Prize at the Rice University Business Plan Competition in April 2005. Jack Gill previously founded Vanguard Ventures, a high-tech venture capital firm in Palo Alto, CA. Jack worked as a managing general partner of Vanguard Ventures for 20 years. Vanguard's first five funds, totaling $155 million in capital, returned over $1 billion to investors, ranking it among the top VC returns.
