The Frontier Angel Fund is a group of accredited investors dedicated to providing equity capital to early and mid-stage entrepreneurial companies. Frontier is a member-managed, pooled fund - that is, it reviews deals together and then votes to invest pooled capital. A typical group investment is in the range of $100,000 to $200,000. Members have the option of investing from their personal accounts alongside the fund. The primary focus is on companies based in western Montana, Montana, and the inland Pacific Northwest. The fund was founded in 2006 with 33 investors and has total capital in the amount of $1.75 million. Prospective investments should be operating in a market sufficiently large to create a business with a minimum of $30 million in annual revenues within five years with a clear path to profitability. Funding for each investment will not exceed $1 million and management should be experienced in building significant, successful companies, although the management team need not be complete. Frontier's primary investment focus will be on early stage companies, regardless of industry. The fund was organized by RAIN Source Capital, a Minnesota-based network of angel investment funds.
