European Investment Bank

European Investment Bank is the long-term lending bank of the European Union and is based in Luxembourg. EIB is owned by and represents the interest of the European Union Member States. The bank works closely with other EU institutions to implement EU policy. Established in 1958, EIB provides lending, borrowing, and advisory services. The bank offers loans, senior debt, subordinated debt, mezzanine finance, micro-finance development, risk-sharing finance for research and innovation projects, finance and technical expertise for sustainable energy projects. In addition, it also provides support for urban development projects, infrastructure project advisory services, finance and expertise for sustainable investment projects and funding for public-private partnerships and small and medium-sized enterprises. European Investment Bank operates as a subsidiary of EIB Group. The bank serves companies related to transport, energy, industry, health, education and training, water and sewerage services, agriculture, forestry, and information technology sectors.
