Our passion is to take newly found intellectual property and then use it to bring new products to market. We believe that we have a competitive advantage in commercializing products because we are owned by Capital Southwest Corporation. Capital Southwest provides patient capital to exceptional businesses with significant growth potential. Capital Southwest is not a private equity firm or a venture capital firm or a fund. Capital Southwest is a business development company with a refreshingly different investment mindset. Because of the various operating companies owned by Capital Southwest spread across a number of different industries, intellectual property found by Discovery Alliance can often be placed with an existing CSC operating company where it can be commercialized quickly. Discovery Alliance may choose to invest in a wide variety of different technologies and end use markets. However, of particular interest to us are the following areas: plumbing innovations, HVAC innovations, fire and smoke protection, automotive after-market, environmental indicators, lubricants, commercial construction, architectural innovations, photo-luminescent materials, consumer products, wheeled sporting goods, and commercial mowing and maintenance equipment.
