Dakota Resources, formally South Dakota Rural Enterprise, serves South Dakota with financing programs such as the Capital Investment Fund and the South Dakota Community Capital Fund for community development institutions, revolving loan funds and economic development corporations, and by bringing new products and services into the rural economic development market. This initiative offers several financing and training opportunities as well as networking possibilities. Through these programs, Dakota Resources researches and adapts strategic products, services and training programs from other states and agencies to the specific needs of South Dakota: test-marketing new strategies in pilot programs, defining parameters and determining their potential for local success. The Dakota Resources Capital Investment Fund (CIF) builds financial capacity of South Dakota's Economic Development Corporations and Revolving Loan Funds who finance local development projects. The Capital Investment Fund loans out $50,000 minimum with a 10 year term. Dakota Resources is a certified CDFI by the United States Department of Treasury.
