Crown Capital Corporation was founded in 1985 to provide investment banking and merchant banking services tailored to the emerging growth of middle-market companies. The firm's focus is primarily on companies with revenue between $10 and $250 million. Crown has invested in buyouts, recapitalizations, growth financings and private placements for both private and public companies. Transactions have varied in size from $1 million up to $500 million. Crown is able to use co-investors to do larger transactions. Crown Merchant Banking has invested in several industries, with some of the more successful investments in business services including health care, environmental services (dredging and cleanup), financial services (equipment leasing and banking), manufacturing (branded products), food processing (branded retail food products), energy (traditional suppliers of coal and oil and alternative), biotech and health care devices, telecommunications, and real estate (commercial and multifamily).
