City of Fort Lauderdale Police & Fire Retirement System is a public pension located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The single-employer defined benefit plan which covers all police and firefighters provides retirement, termination, disability, and death benefits. The fund is managed by an eight-member board of trustees. Two of the three appointive Members shall be appointed by the City Commission, each of whom must be a legal resident of the City. The third appointive Member shall be chosen by a majority of the previous six Members and such person's name shall be submitted to the City Commission.
