The Baldwin County Incubator Project is the result of an effort by the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance (BCEDA) to establish a Virtual Incubator Program. Initially funded by a USDA RBEG grant, the virtual incubator (modeled after a similar program in Fort Collins, CO) offers prospective companies the information and service infrastructure that a traditional incubator program enjoys, without the cost or hassle of operating a building, or the requirement that all host businesses reside in one place. Prospective participants should have a physical location within the boundaries of Baldwin County. The incubator will utilize existing small business assistance resources and resource providers such as: SCORE, the University of South Alabama, Baldwin County Revenue Department, Faulkner State Community College, the five Chambers of Commerce in Baldwin County, and the Alabama Technology Network. Entrepreneurial services and programs that are not being provided, but will be addressed by the incubator, may include: Access to Seed/Venture Capital; Micro-Loans; and Technology Transfer and Collaboration.
