Bad Girl Ventures (BGV) is an educational and micro-finance organization organized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit and dedicated to supporting women entrepreneurs in all aspects of their business. The organization combines micro-lending with a nine-week business development course. Attendees of the business course are majority owners of businesses that have operated for at least five years, and require a $25,000 low-interest loan; ten applicants are selected at a time to participate in the business course on scholarship, and one winner from that group is selected for the loan. (Male and female students can attend the business development course 'a la carte' for a fee as well.) BGV Cleveland educated more than 200 entrepreneurs and awarded or facilitated $115,000 in loans since 2011, and BGV Cincinnati has facilitated $650,000 in loans to businesses that have created over 100 new jobs in the Greater Cincinnati area.
